CrushOn AI is one of the most searched NSFW chat platforms right now, so I spent two weeks testing it daily. Honest take: the character library is massive, the roleplay can be fun, but the experience has real problems that pushed me toward a better option.

This is my full CrushOn AI review after 14 days of use. I'll cover what works, what doesn't, whether it's safe, and the alternative I ended up switching to permanently.

What Is CrushOn AI?

CrushOn.ai is an AI chat platform focused on uncensored roleplay conversations. It launched in 2023 and quickly grew a large user base, partly because it positioned itself as the “no filter” alternative to Character.ai. Users can browse thousands of community-created characters and chat with them without content restrictions.

The core product is text chat — pick a character, start a conversation, AI responds in character. CrushOn allows NSFW by default, which is why people use it over Character AI or Replika.

  • Token-based pricing — free users get limited daily messages, paid plans ($6-$50/month) unlock more tokens and faster responses
  • Community characters — thousands of user-created characters across every niche
  • Text-only — no voice calls, no video, no image generation worth mentioning

What I Liked About CrushOn AI

The character library is genuinely impressive. Thousands of characters created by the community, covering every personality type and scenario you can think of. Obscure anime references, specific roleplay setups, historical figures with creative twists.

Roleplay quality on good characters is solid. The AI stays in character during extended conversations, and NSFW content flows without awkward refusals. When CrushOn works, it genuinely feels like talking to a character who knows their role.

The community aspect is a strength too. Character creators share their work, leave ratings, and iterate on designs. Popular characters get thousands of conversations, and the best ones are genuinely well-crafted with detailed backstories and consistent personalities.

The Problems I Ran Into

Tokens burn fast. CrushOn's free tier gives you a handful of messages per day. I ran out within 20 minutes on day one. The paid plans help, but even on mid-tier subscriptions, heavy users will hit limits. The token system feels designed to push you toward the most expensive plan rather than letting you enjoy the product.

No voice calls. This was my biggest disappointment. After trying platforms with real-time voice, going back to text-only chat feels flat. CrushOn has zero audio features — no voice calls, no voice messages, nothing. You're stuck reading text for every interaction, and that kills immersion during longer sessions.

No video generation. You cannot generate videos from photos, request video actions in chat, or get any video content from characters. The platform is entirely static — text plus occasional basic images. In 2026, that feels incomplete.

Memory is inconsistent. CrushOn claims characters remember your conversations, but in practice the memory drops out frequently. I had characters forget my name, our relationship context, and key details from just two days earlier. The experience feels fragmented when the AI can't maintain continuity.

Image generation is basic. CrushOn has some image gen, but you cannot pick poses, outfits, or backgrounds with any real control. Compare that to GoLove.ai's 34 poses, 21 outfits, and 34 backgrounds, and CrushOn's generator feels like a checkbox feature rather than a real tool.

The interface is cluttered. Ads, promotions, token counters, and upgrade banners take up significant screen space. The UI feels noisy compared to cleaner alternatives. Navigation between characters, settings, and chat is not intuitive — I spent my first hour just figuring out where things were.

Is CrushOn AI Safe?

CrushOn.ai uses HTTPS encryption for connections, which is the bare minimum. The privacy policy exists but is vague about exactly how conversation data is used. I noticed targeted ads that seemed to reference my chat topics, which suggests some level of data processing for advertising.

The token billing was another concern. Charges sometimes felt inconsistent — I had sessions where token deductions did not match my actual message count. Nothing dramatic, but enough to make me check my balance frequently. The platform is not a scam, but the monetization model feels aggressive.

My advice: use a unique email and don't share personal info in chats. CrushOn's ad-driven model makes extra caution worthwhile. GoLove.ai has a cleaner subscription model without ad tracking.

CrushOn AI vs GoLove.ai

After two weeks on CrushOn, I tested GoLove.ai for the same period. The comparison made CrushOn's limitations obvious. Here is how they stack up on every feature that matters.

Why I Switched to GoLove.ai

CrushOn AI is fine if all you want is text-based roleplay chat. But after two weeks, the text-only experience started feeling one-dimensional. Here's what made GoLove.ai the clear upgrade:

  • Voice calls from day one — real-time conversations where the character responds in her own voice. Going back to text after hearing a character laugh at my joke felt like watching a movie on mute.
  • Memory that actually works — GoLove.ai remembered a nickname I used on day three when I came back on day fourteen. On CrushOn, characters forgot my name after 48 hours.
  • Image gen with real control — 34 poses, 21 outfits, 34 backgrounds, custom prompts. Requesting a photo mid-chat where she sends it naturally? CrushOn cannot do that.
  • Video from any photo — tap a photo in chat, generate a video. Plus the “Design with AI” character creator and per-character lust level 1-5.
  • Clean UI, no ads — subscription model means no ad banners competing for screen space.

The image generator was another level. On CrushOn, image gen felt like an afterthought. On GoLove.ai, I could pick from 34 poses, 21 outfits, 34 backgrounds, or write a custom prompt and get consistent results.

Requesting a photo mid-conversation — where the character sends it naturally as part of the chat — is something CrushOn simply cannot do. That alone changed how I use AI companions.

Video generation from photos, the “Design with AI” character creator, per-character lust level on a 1-5 scale, response length control — features I didn't know I wanted until I tried them.

For a deeper look at AI sexting features, check my separate guide. And the AI sexting apps comparison covers how GoLove stacks against other platforms beyond just CrushOn.

I still check CrushOn occasionally for specific niche characters the community creates. But GoLove.ai is where I spend my time. The combination of voice, video, photos, and memory makes it a different category of product.
